To celebrate the second season of HBO’s Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty, we created a custom ad experience for the series sole sponsor — State Farm. The concept was an endemic platform takeover, where fans were given a gamified experience to interact with their favorite show before being given a limited commercial break on Max. The spot paid tribute to the nostalgic series with design elements that made it feel as if the viewer was watching the ad on a vintage TV screen. I was tasked with leading the design direction for this project alongside a talented team of animators and creatives at Warner Bros. Discovery’s in-house content studio.
